Bio
Born in Milan in 1997, Matilda is a pianist and a piano teacher.
She took her first steps in the music world at the age of ten at the Civica scuola di musica Antonia Pozzi (Corsico, Milan) under the guidance of the teacher Maria Grazia Petrali. Within the local music school, she has taken part in numerous concerts and events and got four scholarships for the year’s best student in 2010, 2013, 2014, 2016.
In the years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2019, 2021 she played in the Milan’s most famous piano event “Piano City”, and she also performed, as a soloist and in chamber music groups, in various music festivals in Milan (Castello Sforzesco, Teatro Buratto, Teatro Litta, Palazzina Liberty), in Pavia, in Piacenza (Salone del Conservatorio, Fondazione Piacenza-Vigevano), in Parma (Spazio Dante), in Tuscany (Monte San Savino and Borgo Mocale AR) and Antwerp (Royal Conservatory, and CoStA cultural center) and Braine l’Alleud.
She has won prizes in some national and international piano competitions. Among them, the Guido Monaco in Prato (2009), the international competition Bruno Bettinelli in Treviglio (2011), the music international competition “Vittoria Caffa Righetti” in Cortemilia (2017), the Humberto Quagliata Contest in San Giovanni Valdarno (2019) and the Concorso “Riviera Etrusca” in Piombino, Tuscany (2022).
She was also awarded the 1st prize in the “Città di Massa” competition (2019) and in the “Antonia Pozzi” contest in Corsico (2019). Moreover she has attended many Masterclasses with the Maestri: Anna Kravtchenko, Roberto Cappello, Ingrid Fliter, Humberto Quagliata, Andrea Turini, Boaz Sharon, Alessandro Comellato.
Matilda spent her 4th year of high school in the United States, as an exchange student. There, she attended the Webster Music University, where she got a scholarship and she deepened her musical studies in piano and chamber music with M. Nina Ferrigno.
Graduated at Liceo Classico Beccaria (Milan) in 2016, she then took a piano bachelor degree at Conservatorio G. Nicolini in Piacenza, graduating in 2020 with full marks. Then, she attended the Master in piano performance at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (Belgium) under the guidance of Maestro Sergei Edelmann and she graduated cum laude in 2022.
For a few years Matilda has been teaching piano, solfège and preparatory music for the Association “L’Eco” in Cesano Boscone (Milan) and for the “Casa della Musica” in Mairano (Pavia) and for “Scuola di musica Antonia Pozzi in Corsico (Milan).
